I want to start airbrushing and I'm looking for a starter kit that has everything you need. I been looking online but it is unclear, there are craft stores I can buy one? This should include a kit for beginners?
Check www.dickblick.com Dick Blick. You will need a small compressor or a lot of compressed air in a box. I bought the compressor. Then you must decide if you want a single action or double action. A single action is a control that controls the air going through the brush AMT. Allos dual action brush allows you to control the air TN TN and painting. I have a badger and a Paasche index. Airbrush Hose

Where I can find a hose for my Airbrush Master Series G23?
Ive looked everywhere but I can not find one.
Pipe Master Iwata airbrushes costumes. Harbor Freight also sells a tube that fits. They are not as good as the Iwata hoses but they cost about two thirds less. Look for the blue hose braided with yellow spots on it. It comes with an adapter for Badger Airbrushes. Just unscrew the adapter and fits your master. Createx Airbrush

Can anyone help me with some airbrush questions?
I got an airbrush kit for Christmas which consists of a small air compressor, the airbrush and a set of Createx paints.
There is either a small jar or a metal “cub” that attaches to the bottom of the airbrush. The jar works great, however the metal cup, when attached, seems to tilt about 45 degrees forward. Therefore, you can not move the airbrush down without spilling the paint. I’ve noticed from some YouTube videos, a lot of people are using an airbrush which has the metal cup on TOP. Can someone please tell me what the difference is between the two? As I said the jar works fine but it looks easier to use the metal cup if you only want to use a small amount of paint. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
With the type of airbrush you have you can’t tilt them you have to have your work strait up and keep the gun level and just move your hand up and down the canvas. You can always go out and buy one with the paint container on the top and use your compressor for that if you wanted to .
But for now just keep it level and move you hand without tilting your hand . Keep it strait as possible.

Iwata Revolution

Where I can get instructions on airbrushing fine detail or a fine line how do you do to help the psi?
I bought an Iwata Revolution. I can not understand what I'm doing wrong is it possible to obtain educational videos in Georgia or Is there a class or a video someone recommended.
First, you can contact Iwata. They have a website (see below) … does support page here, and a contact page. If this does not help … you can try the Coast Airbrush – Airbrush is what they do … there toll on the site, call them. The staff is very competent, and full recommendations whatever your budget. Airbrush Action Magazine has a load of videos instructonal, but none of them are specific to the Revolution itself … I think. Not sure. I use Iwata HP-c +, Micron CPC, and W-100. For wrinkles … is partly a question of control of the fingers, and the air pressure in part. In general, you want a lower pressure to work properly, like 12? 15? psi. Unlike shirts where your blasting away at 60 psi. Therefore, the pressure drops, and full press release below (I guess the revolution is a double action airbrush?) with air, and provide the trigger just enough, like a hair. The most fine is the line, more than you need tip / nozzle to the surface. Viscosity of the paint may be a problem so, if you try to get something and pressures Createx paint shirt above … ha. No, does not occur. If we talk about Com-Art Airbrush Acrylic paint is a lighter body … no problem.

Iwata Eclipse

What is the best Airbrush Compressor to use with Iwata Eclipse HP-BCS?
I am using a very entry level compressor with low PSI’s and the paint is not coming out as accurate as I see when professionals do it. What is the best compressor I can purchase. I found one on the Walmart website which is a Campbell Hausfeld’s IronForce.
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=8727992
Is this recommended?
You may want to check out all the compressors and great prices at Harbor Freight Tools. http://search.harborfreight.com/cpisearch/web/search.do
Not only will you need a compressor, but you’ll also need a good air filter. This is one of the better ones I found on the market for oil less compressors. If you buy a compressor which uses oil you’ll need a air filter designed for both air and oil.
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=1118
First of all, I wouldn’t recommend buying an air compressor from WalMart. If I was considering a Campbell Hausfeld I’d buy it from a reputable distributor or dealer. The price restrictions the big box stores (like Lowe’s, Walmart, Home Depot) put on manufacturers forces them to use sub standard materials. IOW, you save a few bucks and get what you pay for.
On the other hand I’ve had some great luck buying remanufactured name brand items from Harbor Freight Tools, and got better deals than you’ll ever find at places like WalMart.
As for which one to choose. I’ve always followed the advice given to me by some of the best automotive airbrush artists in the market today (Julio, Steve Nunez, Mike Learn, Mike Lavallee, etc…) buy the biggest one you can afford. Don’t just judge a compressor by it’s horse power. What’s really important is the ## CMF’s @ ## p.s.i., and if you’re eventually wanting to get into the automotive field you’ll need something that can handle various spray guns like the HVLP’s for primers, sealers, base coats and clears.
I gave the previous answer a thumbs up. He gave a lot of great information as well, but it all comes down to what field you want to concentrate on with the airbrushing.
One other thing. You said you’re having trouble with the paint flow at low p.s.i.? That doesn’t sound like a problem with too low of pressure. The airbrushing I do is geared more toward fine art, and there’s times I’m using as little as 7 to 8 p.s.i. with an Olympos, Iwata, Richpen, or Grex. Now keep in mind that most of those are gravity feed airbrushes, but I also use a Iwata BCS to block in larger areas. When using the BCS I usually have the pressure set between 17 and 22 psi unless I’m messing around with a t-shirt (then it’s 60+ psi). If anything this sound like a problem with the viscosity of your paint or possibly a clogged nozzle. Make sure your paint is thinned to a consistancy comparable to milk, and make sure the breather hole on the bottle top isn’t clogged. If you’re still having problems inspect the nozzle with a jewlers loop for cracks where the needle comes through, and look for dried paint specs inside the nozzle.
Good luck and hope this helped.
